2011 Workshop

2011s workshop was held August 13th at IIT’s Rice campus in Wheaton, IL (201 E. Loop Rd)This was day long program featuring keynote speakers, a mentor-led professional and college panel, and several breakout lectures covering the major areas of Science and Engineering today
High school girls (8th – 12th grade) who were interested in the sciences and/or math, and were considering college options in fields oengineering, mathematics and science attended this workshop.
Prominent women engineers and scientists from some of Chicagoland’s major institutions like Alcatel-Lucent, FermilabNokia Siemens Network, the City of Naperville, and UIC represented various levels of experience ranging from academia, research, industry, and business. 

Speakers shared their thoughts on :
    - what they do every day and what is cool about their jobs
    - job market trends and preparation--college and beyond
    - what skills make them successful
